Quick answer

A handwritten declaration must be a JPEG of 50-100 KB at about 800 x 400 px, written by hand in English, in black ink, in running handwriting - never typed and never in capital letters. Photograph it, then set the size in PhotoResizer and download.

Handwritten declaration specifications

RequirementSpecification
FormatJPEG / JPG
File size50 KB - 100 KB
Dimensionsabout 800 x 400 px (roughly 10 x 5 cm)
LanguageEnglish only
HandwritingRunning hand - not typed, not capital letters
Ink / paperBlack ink on plain white paper
Who writes itThe candidate only - not a parent or agent
The declaration text itself is printed on the application page and you copy it out by hand. Because it is wider than it is tall, a phone photo taken in portrait usually needs cropping to roughly a 2:1 ratio before it will sit correctly in the upload box. IBPS RRB, IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk and SBI forms all use this upload, and the exact KB range is restated on each notification.

Why handwritten declarations get rejected

The single biggest cause is writing it in CAPITAL LETTERS, which IBPS explicitly rejects - the declaration must be in running handwriting. Typing the declaration and screenshotting it is also rejected. After that it is file size: a phone photo of a sheet of paper is several megabytes against a 100 KB cap, and compressing it in a gallery app usually leaves the writing grey and unreadable. Resize to a target inside 50-100 KB instead.

How to resize your handwritten declaration

  1. Copy the declaration by hand in English, in running handwriting, in black ink on plain white paper.
  2. Photograph it straight on in good light, with the paper filling the frame and no shadow across it.
  3. Open PhotoResizer and upload the image.
  4. Crop to about 2:1 (roughly 800 x 400 px) so it matches the upload box.
  5. Set 50-100 KB and download the upload-ready JPEG.

Frequently asked questions

What is the handwritten declaration size for IBPS?
A JPEG between 50 KB and 100 KB at roughly 800 x 400 pixels, about 10 x 5 cm, written in English in black ink.

Can I type the handwritten declaration?
No. It must be written by hand by the candidate in running handwriting. A typed or printed declaration is rejected, and so is one written entirely in capital letters.

Which exams need a handwritten declaration?
IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk, IBPS RRB and IBPS SO forms require it, and SBI recruitment forms use a similar upload. The declaration text is shown on the application page for you to copy out.

My declaration photo is 4 MB - how do I get it to 100 KB?
Upload it to PhotoResizer and set the target under 100 KB. It compresses to the limit while keeping the handwriting legible, which is what fails when you re-save repeatedly in a phone gallery app.

Can I write the declaration in Hindi?
No. IBPS requires the declaration in English. Writing it in any other language is grounds for rejection of the application.

Is the handwritten declaration resizer free?
Yes - free, no sign-up, no watermark, and private, because the resizing happens entirely in your browser.
